Mikhail Konstantinovich Glubokovsky

Born on September 20, 1948.

Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor.

Since December, 2012 – Head of the All-Russia Research Institute for Fishery and Oceanography.

In 1971, graduated from the Biology and Soil Department of Leningrad State University.

In 1971 – 1993, worked at the Marine Biology Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FEB RAS), Vladivostok; began as a research associate, finished as a deputy director for scientific work.

In 1993 – 1996 – Deputy, Vice Chairman of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the State Duma at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the first convocation.

In 1996 – 2000 – Vice Chairman of the Natural Resources and Environmental Management Committee of the State Duma at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the second convocation.

In 2000 – State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Ministry of the Russian Federation.

In 2000 – 2002 – President of the Russian Scientific Societies League.

In 2002 – Member of the Federation Council at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (Delegate of the Primorsky Krai Legislative Assembly).

In 2002 – 2005 –Vice Governor of Primorsky Krai (Representative in Moscow).

In 2005 – 2008 – Deputy Director of the Commercial Fishing Department at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In 2008 – 2009 – Adviser to the Head of the State Fisheries Committee of the Russian Federation.

In 2009 – December 2012 – First Deputy Director of VNIRO.

Since December 5, 2012 – Director of VNIRO.

Since 2001 until present – Professor of the Ichthyology Section at the Biology Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University (part-time).

Born on May 27, 1953.

Doctor of Biological Sciences (2005).

In 1975, graduated from Kaliningrad Technical Institute of the Fisheries Industry (KTIRPH, now KGTU) with, a degree in Ichthyology-Fish Studies.

Upon graduating, worked as an engineer with the Pacific Administration of the Commercial Fishing and Research Fleet (TURNIF, Vladivostok). Participated in marine expeditions in the North Pacific Ocean: the Sea of Japan, the Bering Sea, the Gulf of Alaska and the Pacific Coast of Canada and the USA.

In 1978-1993, worked at the Pacific Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography (TINRO, Vladivostok) as a junior research associate, senior research associate, section leader, Deputy Director of Raw Materials Research (1988-1991).

In 1993-2001, pursued commercial activity.

Since 2002, has worked at VNIRO; since February, 2013 – as a Deputy Director for Science. Distinguished Fisheries Specialist (conferred in 2006).
