The crew and scientific group of the STF “Atlantida” operate in the normal mode according out the mission . On 31 December, research work was completed in an area North-East of Mordvinov Island and on 2 January, the started research work in the CCAMLR zone on a site North-East of The South Orkney Islands. In addition to acoustic sensing, complex oceanological works at each station are carried out by control trawling by the Aisex-Kidd scientific trawl. Observations of birds and mammals continue. 14 species of birds were recorded in the area of work. On the way there were several species of albatrosses (black-brown, wandering, gray-headed, light-spiny smoky), various petrels (southern giant, white-chin, gray, etc.), as well as Antarctic penguins. The latter often came close enough to the ship.

Among marine mammals, most often observed musty whales - finals and southern small striped Minke. There were toothbrush whales from the genus Hyperoodon ampullatus. On the approach to the South Orkney Islands, large icebergs of various shapes began to occur. In order to safe navigation of the ship had to get around them.

As of January 5, 14 trawling, 14 hydrological and 6 hydrobiological stations were performed at the shooting in the CCAMLR zone.

With research work passed - 319 miles.
