VNIRO director Kirill Kolonchin visited the Azov-Black Sea branch

The Azov-Black Sea fisheries basin is one of the most dynamically changing in the Russian Federation today. Global climatic changes in the form of an increase in temperature and a reduction in freshwater runoff have led to a radical restructuring of the species composition of the raw material base of fisheries.

All these changes require and entail the need to adjust fishing regulations, as well as the development of forecasts of the state of the raw material base for scientific and information support of the industry.

Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), Doctor of Economics, arrived in Rostov-on-Don on October 6 to discuss these issues and consider proposals from scientists of the Azov-Black Sea branch of VNIRO.

The Director of VNIRO held an open meeting on problematic issues of the basin, which was also attended by Alexey Baitalyuk, Deputy Director - Head of the Pacific Branch of VNIRO, and Evgeny Darinov, Deputy Director - Head of the Tyumen branch of VNIRO.

After the meeting, Kirill Kolonchin awarded the distinguished employees of the Azov-Black Sea branch of VNIRO with federal awards.
