VNIRO at the International Youth Festival in Sirius

At the International Youth Festival in Sirius, business program events were held that aroused interest among the delegation of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO): discussions “Global cooperation in the field of education and science: developing the potential of youth in the modern world” and “Simply about science: young scientists talk about their research."
 
VNIRO geneticists Valeria Soshnina and Lyubov Muge implemented a project for schoolchildren in the workshop of Nikolai Vavilov with testing a modern method of using genetic markers to determine sex in sturgeon species, using the facilities of the laboratories of Sirius University.
 
Young scientists from VNIRO, together with schoolchildren, carried out all stages of this work, from the selection of material to the provision of reliable results.
 
The group of researchers included both Russian schoolchildren and foreign guests.
