A scientist from the Pacific branch of VNIRO took part in the round table meeting “Results of the implementation of the national project “Science and Universities”

During the event, organized by the news agency RBC Primorye, a researcher at the Pacific branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) spoke about the main developments of the institute that are of an applied nature for industry organizations.
 
Also among the round table participants are representatives of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dalrybvtuz, VVGU, Pacific State Medical University, FEFU, the Ministry of Vocational Education and Employment of the Primorsky Territory.
 
Opening the event, editor-in-chief of RBC Primorye P.P. Railko outlined the relevance of issues of synergistic integration of science, higher education and production in the context of continuing the implementation of the national project “Science and Universities”.
 
Among the priorities of scientific and technological development in the next decade is the development of highly productive and environmentally friendly fishing and farming, including the use of artificial intelligence.
 
Forecasting and rational use of aquatic biological resources are of key importance for the stable development of the Far East and the domestic fishing industry as a whole: more than 70% of Russian catches occur in the Far Eastern Federal District.
 
And about. Head of the Laboratory for Studying the Marine Life Period of Pacific Salmon and Prospective Fishing Objects of the Pacific Branch of VNIRO A.A. Somov spoke about the leading role of the institute in the development of fisheries and ensuring food security in Russia.
 
The Institute has been conducting comprehensive research on aquatic biological resources and improving their harvesting technologies for 99 years: in 2025, the Pacific branch of VNIRO will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
 
Representatives of scientific and educational institutions shared relevant information, not neglecting the practice-oriented developments that scientists are engaged in to ensure a high quality of life for the population, the creation of new scientific laboratories, promising options for solving personnel issues by attracting young specialists to science, conducting joint research and discoveries, conclusion research for practical implementation.
