The meeting was opened by the head of the department, Ivan Vladimirovich Mataev. Kirill Ershov, head of the Ural Branch of the SSC RF "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), made a welcoming speech, noting the importance of combining science and control: the inspectors' data complement the scientific picture of the state of the aquatic biological resources of the Urals, and scientific conclusions help the fisheries protection agency prioritize supervision.
The main report on the results of January — September was delivered by the head of the State Control Department, G. A. Korabelnikov. Typical violations include fishing without permits, the use of prohibited fishing gear, and exceeding daily catch rates. The main problem of the season was the catastrophic flood: it flooded the territories and changed the habitat conditions of aquatic animals. Special attention was paid at the meeting to coordination with law enforcement agencies and scientific organizations.
In conclusion, Ivan Mataev summed up the results, thanked and noted the best employees, and outlined the tasks for the fourth quarter, including preparation for the autumn—winter period, prevention of violations among fishing enthusiasts and participation in environmental actions.
