At the time of the opening of the fishery on July 15, the water level reached 35.08 m. At the same time, the average for April — July was 34.8 m, which is one of the highest levels in the last five years. Only the years 2023-2024 were characterized by greater water content: then the average values were in the range of 35.2–35.5 m. High water content has a positive effect on the ecosystem of the reservoir: feeding areas increase, the food supply is better provided, which means that the severity of anthropogenic impact decreases even with intensive commercial fishing.
Fishing at the reservoir resumed on July 15, after the end of the spring ban. According to statistics on this date, the volume of catch of aquatic biological resources exceeded 2,053 tons. The indicator turned out to be 193 tons lower than the level of 2025, but 70 tons higher than the result of 2024.
The catch structure looks like this: crucian carp is in the lead (51%), followed by bream (19.2%) and carp (16.9%), with walleye in fourth place (5.9%). The share of other species — carp, pike, perch, white amur and gaster — in total does not exceed 8%. At the same time, there is a clear trend: the proportion of carp and crucian carp is growing, while the catch of bream and walleye has decreased slightly.
