VNIRO leadership at the Rosrybolovstvo Board

On April 8, the Federal Agency for Fisheries held an expanded Board meeting at the site of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, which summed up the work of the fisheries complex in 2025 and reviewed the industry development plan in 2026.
 
The meeting was attended by Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Andrey Yatskin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kashin, Head of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, representatives of federal agencies, the Accounts Chamber of Russia, authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and the Public Council under Rosrybolovstvo.
 
"With the support of the state, the Rosrybolovstvo scientific research fleet is being updated. In 2025, the VNIRO flotilla was replenished with the Vikenty Zaitsev vessel, which will explore opportunities to restore the Baikal omul fishing stocks. We expect that by the end of 2028, two more new vessels will be launched for research work," Dmitry Patrushev said in his speech, opening the Board meeting. He also summed up the preliminary results of the Large African Expedition of Rosrybolovstvo, stressing that its result was not only the acquisition of valuable scientific data, but also the strengthening of cooperation with African countries and Russia's position in the oceans.
Then Andrey Yatskin, German Zverev and the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis made speeches, and Ilya Shestakov, head of Rosrybolovstvo, presented to the participants of the event an expanded report on financial indicators, volumes of extraction of aquatic biological resources, indicators of export and import of fish products.
 
Issues of saturation of the domestic market, support measures aimed at the development of fisheries and the organization of fishing were also discussed. 
 
At the same time, the Board meeting traditionally awarded industry and departmental awards to the best employees. Dmitry Patrushev presented the Order of Honor awarded by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin to the staff of the All-Russian Scientific Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), Director, Doctor of Economics Kirill Kolonchin.
 
Alexey Baytalyuk, Deputy Director and Head of the Pacific Branch of VNIRO, was also awarded the honorary title of "Honored Worker of Fisheries of the Russian Federation" and Arsen Mirzoyan, Deputy Director and Head of the Southern Branch, was awarded the Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
