The conference program included issues of new feeding standards for fish farms, wastewater treatment technologies, problems of disposal of by-products of aquaculture production, as well as issues of trout processing.
The conference was attended by specialists from the Central Institute and the Atlantic Branch of VNIRO. Anatoly Andriukhin, Head of the branch's Aquatic Biological Resources Processing Technology Center, presented the report "Integrated Trout processing. Technologies, design, maintenance".
The scientist's report demonstrated the Center's developments, standardization documents (technical specifications, organization standards) in the field of food, feed, and technical products from aquatic biological resources, while focusing on trout products, the cultivation of which is currently developing intensively in North Ossetia.
VNIRO's extensive capabilities in the field of technological support for trout processing enterprises in the form of technical specifications, the development of projects for fish processing plants and further information support in the field of processing aquatic biological resources were shown.
A specialist from the Atlantic Branch presented the technologies developed by the Institute, in particular, technologies for chilled fish using electrochemically activated ice, modified gas media and vacuum packaging, technologies for salted, smoked, dried, culinary, and heat-preserved products. Special attention was paid to developments in the use of by-products from trout butchering: supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of fish oil, the production of complete canned food from sub-products, and the production of extruded protein feed additives.
In addition to the main program of the conference, a visit to fish farms and a chilled trout production facility also took place.
The conference participants got acquainted with samples of fish products produced using VNIRO technologies, including trout skin, protein bars and other products, which aroused active interest and interest in further cooperation between the fishermen of North Ossetia and the institute.
