VNIRO at the meeting of the Scientific Council of the FSBI "GGI" and the Section of Earth Sciences of the SPbO RAS

On May 19, a joint meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute and the Geosciences Section of the Joint Scientific Council for Natural Sciences of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was held at the State Hydrological Institute.
 
The key topics for discussion were the scientific results of hydrological research over the current decade, issues of natural risks and prospects for interdepartmental cooperation in the preparation of the Federal Project "Clean Ladoga".
 
Marina Melnik, Head of the St. Petersburg branch, member of the Earth Sciences Section of the National Research Center for Fisheries and Oceanography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took part in the event on behalf of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), who spoke in the discussion of the report of the corresponding member. RAS N.N. Filatova on the development of a work program and prospects for cooperation between specialized scientific organizations of St. Petersburg in the implementation of the Clean Ladoga project.
 
Marina Mikhailovna's position, which emphasized the interdisciplinary nature of the issues discussed, especially in terms of the ecological status of water bodies, as well as the need to exchange data and materials within the framework of state monitoring of Lake Ladoga and its watershed, where the interests of hydrological research and fisheries intersect, aroused great interest and willingness to cooperate on the part of all participants in the joint meeting.
 
The meeting resulted in a decision to prepare joint recommendations and expand cooperation between scientific organizations in the North-Western region within the framework of the preparation and implementation of the federal project "Clean Ladoga".
