The feed base of aquatic biological resources became the focus of scientists' attention. The researchers took samples of phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos, the basis of the reservoir's food chain. These organisms not only provide food for fish and crustaceans, but also serve as reliable indicators of ecological well-being: any shifts in their abundance and species composition help to identify hidden changes in the ecosystem.
At the same time, the experts studied the most important hydrochemical parameter — the total mineralization of water. The level of salinity directly affects the vital activity of freshwater species: the growth rate, development and success of fish reproduction depend on it. Monitoring this indicator allows you to more accurately predict the dynamics of fish stocks and take into account possible risks in a timely manner.
Following the results of the expedition, scientists will prepare a comprehensive assessment of the state of the aquatic bioresources habitat in the Veselovsky reservoir. Information on the distribution, abundance and condition of the forage base will be updated — these data will become an important basis for the scientifically sound management of the fishery potential of the reservoir.
