The documents created by specialists of the All-Russian Scientific Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) and its Pacific branch within the framework of the work of Technical Committee No. 300 are designed to improve the quality and safety of products, improve control methods and minimize the risks of falsification at all stages — from production to sale. The new standards will become effective on June 1, 2027, with their early application allowed.
Anton Shalaev, Head of Rosstandart, visited Vladivostok in early July. During his trip, he visited the Pacific Branch to discuss the prospects for the development of research and testing techniques for fish products.
According to Anton Shalaev, modern standards help to develop uniform quality assessment criteria, strengthen the effectiveness of laboratory control and build a reliable system to protect the market from counterfeiting, and the introduction of up—to-date test methods is a key condition for an objective verification of product compliance with established standards.
