The branch's researchers and specialists conducted theoretical and practical classes with the students. The practical training of the students consisted of mastering the methods of collecting and processing ichthyological and hydrobiological material, familiarization with the history and main activities of the branch.
During the practice, they learned the basics of determining the age and fertility of fish. We got acquainted with the equipment and methods of plankton and benthos research. They participated in the collection of hydrobiological samples, studied the taxonomic diversity of zooplankton and zoobenthos of the Yevkovka River. The specifics of anthropogenic impact on aquatic biological resources in the Vologda region and measures for their conservation were analyzed.
On the last day of the internship, the students made presentations on the results of their work. The students noted that they had gained new knowledge and skills, and the branch's activities were unusual, interesting and necessary for the development of the region's fishing industry and the conservation of aquatic biological resources.
