TINRO: The age of science is the age of conservation of biological resources

The Pacific branch of the Scientific Research Center of the Russian Federation "All‑Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) announced the All-Russian scientific and practical conference "100 YEARS OF TINRO: THE SCIENCE OF PRESERVING BIORESOURCES FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS."
 
It will be held on November 17-19, 2026 and will be the key scientific event of the branch this year — the first conference of the institute after 2008. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary, which the branch celebrated in 2025.
 
The purpose of the conference is to form new scientific approaches, identify vectors for the development of fisheries science, present achievements, summarize experience and support young researchers. The platform will bring together scientists, specialists in the study of the World Ocean, graduate students and young researchers from all over Russia.
 
Key dates:
 
Registration of participants is scheduled until August 20, 2026.;
submission of the report materials until September 10, 2026;
October 20, 2026 — publication of the conference program;
November 17-19, 2026 — the conference will be held.
 
The program includes 8 thematic sections: from the history of the branch and the assessment of bioresource reserves to aquaculture and technologies for processing aquatic organisms. The conference will become a platform for dialogue between science and practice, and its results will help determine the directions of the industry's development.
