Special attention was drawn to the report by Denis Kiku, Deputy Head of the Pacific Branch of the SSC RF "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO): he presented up-to-date fishing data in the Far Eastern Fisheries Basin, assessed the stocks of massive aquatic organisms in the Far Eastern seas and spoke about digital solutions that science is implementing to support the country's fisheries.
During the discussion, the participants outlined the prospects for the development of the industry, raised issues of protecting the rights of fishermen and identified a number of acute problems — from improving the legislative framework to expanding state support measures for fish producers, coastal industries, coastal territories and small and medium-sized businesses. At the same time, the main task remains unchanged — to follow the course of Russia's food policy and carefully preserve aquatic biological resources in order to ensure their rational use in the long term.
