The first stage of amateur fishing competitions was held in the Polar branch of VNIRO

On March 31, at the Maloe Pulozero water facility in the Kola Municipal District, the Polar Branch of the SSC RF "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) held the annual first stage of the amateur fishing competition "Fishing for Science", the duration of the tour was 2.5 hours.
 
In the conditions of the Far North, the branch's specialists competed for the title of the best.
 
According to the results of the tournament, Viktor Ivshin, a senior researcher at the Laboratory of Commercial Oceanography, took the first place (396 points), and Roman Klepikovsky, a leading specialist in the Marine Mammals department, took the second place (300 points). The third was Lyudmila Aksenova, a technician at the Department of Instrumental support for Research at the Central Research Institute (175 points). Lyudmila Aksenova also received a diploma in the nomination "The largest fish".
 
All the prize–winners received diplomas and memorable gifts, and the participants of the competition received certificates.
 
The winner of the first stage will represent the Polar Region at the second stage of the VNIRO Championship.
