Scientific contacts in the field of fisheries continue.

The State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All‑Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) implements priority scientific and experimental tasks that are significant for Russia’s technological development and actively defends the country’s interests in international fishing, including through scientific support for negotiation processes aimed at regulating the fishing of aquatic biological resources.

An important platform for such interaction was the 36th Meeting of Scientists and Specialists in the Field of Fisheries from Russia and the Republic of Korea, organized in accordance with the protocol of the 15th session of the Russian‑The Korean Fisheries Commission.

During the meeting, specialists from the Pacific Branch of VNIRO and the National Institute of Fisheries Research of Korea (NIFS) exchanged current data on the state of stocks of pelagic commercial species, the development of aquaculture, and the properties of biologically active components of bivalve mollusks. The parties discussed the thematic reports with interest, summarized the results of the successful implementation of the scientific and technical cooperation plan for 2026, and prepared a draft plan for 2027, which will be approved at the 36th session of the commission.

Representatives of both countries emphasized the importance of systematic international cooperation for the rational use of natural resources and sustainable economic development, and also expressed confidence in further strengthening partnership in the field of fisheries.
