Moscow region strengthens fishing potential

At the 28th Russian Agro‑Industrial Exhibition Golden Autumn 2026, Vitaly Mosin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region, and Alexey Myshkin, Head of the Freshwater Fisheries Branch of the All—Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), signed a strategic cooperation agreement, an important step in the development of the region's fisheries complex.

The document opens up a number of significant opportunities for the Moscow region: Fish farmers will have access to high-quality domestic planting material, balanced specialized Russian-made feeds will be used on farms, and VNIRO's scientific developments will be directly implemented into the practice of local enterprises. All this will allow us to increase the volume of fish production, strengthen biosafety and, in general, increase the food sustainability of the region.

As Vitaly Mosin noted, the fishing industry and commercial aquaculture are one of the most dynamically developing areas of the Moscow region agro—industrial complex, and the partnership with VNIRO helps to effectively link academic research with the real work of farms.
