Maritime dialogue between Russia and Brazil: results of the visit and symbols of mutual respect

Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the Scientific Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), Doctor of Economics, joined the government delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President, Chairman of the Maritime Board, and took part in a working visit to Brazil. The head of the branch institute accompanied the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov.

The results of the multi-day trip of the delegation of the Russian Maritime Board are reflected in the report presented to Vladimir Putin. As Nikolai Patrushev noted, Russia and Brazil have great prospects for cooperation in the maritime field: from shipbuilding and naval subjects to joint scientific, humanitarian and historical projects.

The observer of the "RG", who was in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro for a week, noted a striking contrast in the attitude towards Russia: unlike the Russophobic policy of the West, Brazil, on the contrary, strengthens the memory of the contribution of Russians to world history by erecting monuments to Russian navigators and opening exhibitions dedicated to outstanding Soviet admirals.
