The September issue includes materials on the following topics:
- Antarctic krill resources and ecology: The Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute conducted a series of studies on the distribution, life stages, and food supply of Antarctic krill in the southwestern Indian Ocean and off the Antarctic Peninsula, including a forecast of a decline in suitable habitats under climate change.
- Smart counting of fish on fish-breeding vessels: the device of the Research Institute of Fisheries Engineering and Instrumentation for automatic counting and recognition of fish has passed a phased acceptance on the entire series of Gosin-1 fish-breeding vessels with a counting accuracy of over 98%.
- Acoustic monitoring in fisheries: The Freshwater Fisheries Research Center has developed the self-supervised learning framework EchoST-SSL for analyzing echo-sounder sensing data in aquaculture and aquatic ecosystems.
- Effects of the Yangtze fishing moratorium: The Freshwater Fisheries Research Center found that after the ten-year moratorium was imposed, phytoplankton abundance and biomass increased in Gehu Lake, and the restoration of the fish community began to determine the structure of its community.
- PCR test for crustacean iridovirus: The Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute has received the registration of a new veterinary drug kit for fluorescent PCR diagnostics of decapod crustacean type 1 iridovirus.
- Biogenic acidification of waters in shellfish mariculture: The Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute systematized the mechanisms and consequences of biogenic acidification of waters in farms for the cultivation of bivalves and proposed measures to mitigate them.
