The study covered more than 350 km of the river in three administrative districts of the Tyumen region: the expedition took place on the branch's own vessel and affected a vast territory. In nine control sections, the scientists did not limit themselves to simple trapping — they carefully analyzed the state of fish populations: they carried out control catches, performed biological analysis and mass measurements of individuals, and also assessed the intensity of their feeding.
To get a complete picture of the state of the river and its feeding base, the researchers additionally selected hydrobiological and hydrochemical samples of water and bottom soil.
The collected data will help not only to provide a detailed assessment of the current living conditions of aquatic biological resources, but also to track the dynamics of the number of commercial herds over the years.
