The honorary guests of the event were Anton Shalaev, Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Anastasia Semenova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the V.M. Gorbatov Federal Research Center for Food Systems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Yulia Burdina, Head of the Department of Light, Food, Chemical Industry and Biotechnology at the Institute of Standardization.
As part of the celebrations, a round table "Technical regulation and standardization in the fisheries industry" was also held, during which the participants recalled the history of the creation of the technical committee, discussed the main results of activities and plans for the future.
The National Technical Committee TC 300 "Fish products, food, feed, technical and packaging" was established in 1991 on the basis of VNIRO by order of the USSR State Committee for Product Quality Management and Standards and the USSR Ministry of Fisheries, which has been creating and updating standards in the fisheries industry for 35 years.
During a visit to the Institute, Anton Shalaev, head of Rosstandart, was introduced to the history of its foundation, as well as to the work of the Department of Genomic Breeding and the Department of Fish Food Quality. The Director of the Department, Nikolai Muge, demonstrated the modern instrumentation of the genetic laboratory and spoke about the main molecular genetic methods used in modern research. Lyubov Abramova spoke about the main activities of the scientific department, modern methods of quality control and safety of aquatic biological resources and products from them, used in scientific research and expert evaluation of products.
As part of the celebrations, the VNIRO staff was awarded for their great contribution to the development of standardization. Anton Shalaev, Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, presented a certificate of honor to Kirill Kolonchin, Director of VNIRO, Doctor of Economics. The VNIRO specialists of the Institute were also awarded certificates of honor for their significant personal contribution to the development of standardization of the fisheries industry.
